is the founder and Executive Director of the Bamboo Fund. He has been involved in socially responsible investment and community development investment for 18 years; for the last dozen years he has been involved in peace/anti-war work and environmentalism. Brad served for nine years on the Board of Directors and Grantmaking Committee of the Chinook Fund in Denver; he was also their principal endowment fundraiser. He holds an MFA in fiction writing from Goddard College and hails from George W. Bush’s hometown of Midland, Texas.

2006 Grantmaking Panel

Christa Kriesel-Roth has been an activist in Colorado for 10 years. In the 90's, she worked with homeless and runaway youth in Denver which led to the broadening of her work with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, Intersex, and questioning (LGBTIQ) youth issues. She has been a Community Health Coordinator for Boulder County Public Health for the last seven years, and provides trainings to local health care providers on culturally competent service provision related to sexual orientation and gender identity. Christa is a current member of Boulder County AIDS Project’s (BCAP) Multicultural Diversity Committee. She and her partner, Laurie Roth, son AJ, and 2 pups live in Lafayette.

Michele D. Simpson has lived in Colorado for over 25 years. As a staff member of several philanthropic organizations, she concentrated on human service and educational projects, especially those that benefit women and children. In the mid-90’s she was the director and vice president of Black Environmental Science Trust, an organization that addressed issues related to environmental racism/justice. As a consultant Michele offers a complement of leadership development, strategic planning, and human resources tools to both individual and non-profit clients. She currently serves as a mentor to high school students in the Denver Public Schools.
